Today our company will be attending the launch party for “Wish Upon a Wedding” that is now in Colorado. They are a non-profit organization that is making dreams and wishes come true to those who are fighting for their health and have a guardian angel that loves them so much and is standing right there with them through the fight. A love so true and sweet that nothing in the universe can stop them from loving each other!! To help these two put together an unforgettable wedding is tremendous and heart warming. I look forward to learning more about the foundation and how MyWeddingInColorado.com can also be a part of this amazing program! If you are interested in the event and want to attend please go  http://wuwcolorado.eventbrite.com/?ref=esfb

Here is a little about the foundation:

Making Wedding Dreams Come True Across America

“As the World’s first nonprofit wedding wish granting organization, Wish Upon a Wedding provides weddings at destinations across the United States for individuals facing life-threatening illness.  It is a chance for couples to enjoy a very special day, without any thoughts of existing health issues, while surrounded by their closest family and friends.

By celebrating the courage & spirit of these couples, we help create lasting memories that will be cherished for years to come. It is our hope that others facing similar situations will find hope, strength, and the promise of eternal love.”

So he popped the question, you ‘ve announced the engagement to your closestfriends and family and you are off to planning a wedding. If you are not going to hire a live wedding planner and choose to handle the details with your handy wedding planner from Amazon or your local book store then keep reading.

You see the many wedding planners you have to pick from are outstanding and you really can’t go wrong. They have the famous “to do” and “when to do” lists with advice on etiquetteand trackers for your vendors. Then you have the monthly calendar to keep track of your appointments and time lines. I personally recommend that you find a wedding planner that also has a pocket calendar that you can slide into your purse or the pocket of your daily planner.

Ladies my daily planner was a life saver. Find a planner that has monthly overview and the weekly timeline with daily hours. It is a peace mind being able to balance your work, family and the rest of your life with the wedding planning process. The regular wedding planners guide you with the wedding priorities but the daily planner will keep you sane!  It’s great, think about it, the two of you lovebirds can sit down on Sunday nights (or the night that works best for you) and plan, do, review. You will find the tension and stress levels will decrease and your intimacy will increase. When my husband and I sit down together to plan our weeks and discuss our goals and “to dos” we appreciate each other so much more. Plus you can turn it into a romantic event. Cuddle up on the couch, make a yummy drink (hot chocolate or wine…) and snack, and plan away. I have to admit our sweetest conversations came from these planning sessions.

Okay, so ladies you get it…right? The daily planner will be your best friend during your engagement! You won’t miss the little things, like appointments and ordering deadlines, and your fiance will love the low levels of stress.

Weddings resume after temporary bridge installed

BOULDER – The historic Red Lion Restaurant has found a way to repair a washed out bridge that forced couples to relocate their weddings for the past 10 days.

When the water in the Boulder Creek rose quickly it flooded the bridge from Highway 119 to the mountain resort almost two weeks ago.

As a result the Red Lion had to relocate four weddings.

“We only had a couple of options when the state and county claimed they didn’t own the bridge,” said owner Chris Mueller.

“I was ready to pack in after 47 years of hosting weddings and serving dinners at the lodge across the creek, but when the idea of putting an flatbed rail car over the creek came up, it sounded like something I could do to save jobs and the business I love.”

After finding a car in Gilcrest Tuesday, Mueller decided to give the flatbed a try.

When it was towed up the canyon Thursday and put into place Friday morning, it all seemed to work.

The first wedding since the bridge was torn out went off without a hitch as Nicolle and Matt Ertl exchanged vows under a beautiful Colorado sky.

More than 100 of their guests were shuttled in since the bridge still does not have clearance to hold vehicles.

When the business resumes to a normal pace, they plan to put a second bridge.

It would be placed next to the one that is already there and will allow for two-way traffic over the creek.

As for now, weddings are back on for the rest of the summer.

In the “big” city of Denver Colorado there are several salons Colorado Brides can stop by for a manicure or pedicure for a great price or they already have their favorite manicurists, but Sweet Life Nail Bar and Lounge has an edge, a gentle one, that just might change their mind. Take a moment away from the Downtown Denver craze and relax. It starts with the toxin-free, long-lasting, many-colored Zoya products that owner Diane Bilello insists on using, which leaves the Stapleton salon virtually odorless, a novelty in and of itself. But then sink back on this: Sweet Life’s lounge-like atmosphere, replete with overstuffed armchairs and warm lamplight instead of fluorescent bulbs, takes the hurry and stress out of having your nails done, especially when you throw in a glass of wine, mimosa or Grey Goose martini from the bar. Essential Mani/Pedi starting at $40!

So make your reservation for the big day and slip into bliss before you put on your wedding dress and walk down that aisle with style. Because no matter if you are having a Colorado Country  wedding or a Colorado Mansion wedding you will want your toes to look great!

It is difficult deciding on a wedding reception site, florist, wedding dress let alone dresses for your bridesmaids. Admit it; you want your bridesmaids to feel comfortable, beautiful and elegant too!  Several Colorado dress shops have the same styles and fabrics that admittedly aren’t too exciting… but after visiting several bridal boutiques and shops I came across Bella Bridesmaid Dresses in the Cherry Creek Shopping district in Denver Colorado and was blown away.

Bella Bridesmaid caters to the needs of the modern bridesmaid, attending to every fine detail of your experience and providing personalized attention. Our inviting boutique offers a beautiful selection of chic, stylish and wearable designer dresses and accessories.”

So as your delightful bridesmaids promenade down the aisle at your carefully chosen Colorado wedding ceremony site know that they can feel confident and divine, because you went to Bella Bridesmaid.

When Andrea Silva-Molina opened her new bridal store, ECO-Bridal Gowns, in Highland a month ago, she focused on gown rentals, a trend she found throughout Latin America and Europe that makes high-end dresses affordable for all brides.

She soon added consignment dresses, which were scarce when she was planning her own wedding.

Then she found less expensive lines of new dresses from Forever Yours and Pronovias, and her shop was complete.

ECO-Bridal’s rental prices are especially affordable. For just $75-$95 brides can rent a dress for seven days, and they can also hire the shop’s seamstress to adjust the hem. (Though, understandably, that is the only alteration brides can make, and dresses also need to be dry-cleaned before they are returned.)

Silva-Molina says the model of offering a range of price points is working. She’s been inundated with appointments and foot traffic from Highlands Square shoppers. Beyond the comforting price tags, she believes her retail philosophy also attracts brides.

“It’s owned by real women, and it’s for the real women. The smart girls out there are going to appreciate what we do,” she says.

Okay, okay, I have to admit that I am a total sappy romantic when it comes to relationships, marriage proposals/engagements and weddings. I just can’t resist a good romantic comedy and I love hearing about the real thing. As hard as my dad tried to turn me into a Ninja-fly fishing-tom boy, like my older sister who is not only a police officer…but is now learning MMA, I went straight for the fantasy world of Love. I do admit wearing pink, floral print and gossip aren’t my thing but I do love romance, looove it! To the point…Recently I had some friends from Denver Colorado that have been together more than six years, discussing marriage and the engagement idea, just get engaged! Yeah! I am so excited for them. However, I was taken by suprise when my husband told me the story of how the wedding proposal happened. Apparently the two of them were planning on getting engaged in Mexico in a month (they were planning on the proposal to take place…) but when our friend picked up his girlfriend from the Denver International Airport (mind you they live together) he just let it out and they are now engaged. He didn’t plan it and there was no ring. At first I thought…lame, you’ve had all these years to plan this out and make it special then you make plans to do so in Mexico… but you let it loose in the car. Hmm…

But then I thought about it a little more and came to the conclusion that this was by far sweeter, for them, than a well planned proposal in Mexico. It was straight from the heart and it was genuine. I don’t know about you girls but this is a true sign of love just not the romantic/gooey way of showing it. Several men put a lot of time and sweat into the proposal and that is just as awesome (I love you honey!!) but sometimes the whole reason for this event is lost in translation. To each his own and his personality. As long as the woman is taken by suprise, absolutely excited and pleased then you have won the battle! My eyes have been opened to a whole new genre of wedding proposals.

Now to the ring. Is it okay that he did not have a ring with him? I say heck yeah! Some guys, first of all, don’t know what ring to get let alone which size or  which Colorado jeweler to go to, so if this is the case it is better to go together. Secondly, the way the Colorado economy is right now ways to save money on the wedding are a must and waiting for the ring might be necessary. The engagement can be as long as you want so you can create the funds and plan your wedding properly. The ring is forever and any little thing won’t due…FOREVER guys, forever. Quality and value matter more than anything else when it comes to the ring.

Just in case though…here are a few Marriage Proposal Ideas  and Marriage Proposal Dos and Don’ts

Do you want to surprise and impress your guests during your wedding reception dinner with something different? Luckily in the Denver Metro area you can find some unique catering options for your unique wedding reception. My absolute favorite is Bombay Bowl. They just opened their doors and are a hit! They are requested left and right by the big shots….and the great news is they are all about quality and they are affordable. Bombay Bowl is an Indian fast-casual restaurant where you can find warm, rich flavors in fresh, easy contemporary options on that special wedding day here in the beautiful city of Denver Colorado. So think of it as the “Chipotle” version of Indian food but healthier and AMAZING customer relations (which is a must for every bride and groom planning their wedding).

At Bombay Bowl, you will find a mosaic of flavors and spices that thrive in all four exotic regions of India. You can mingle those with your own design of fresh vegetables, meats, and variety of mouth watering sauces instead of the typical chicken with a side salad staples. Come visit Bombay Bowl to see where taste meets West, and great East Indian food can be fast and delicious.
They make you feel right at home and I have to admit it is a fun and trendy little restaurant. Check them out and let them know www.myweddingincolorado.com sent you there!!!
