Top 5 Reasons to have your wedding in Colorado

When the Bride and Groom want to keep their planning to a minimum in both time and cost, they often consider having a Destination Wedding.  The hassle of booking venues and the cost of every little detail becomes abundantly overwhelming and maybe a tad bit stressful. However, for Colorado natives or our ever so welcome travelers, a destination wedding is not as luring. Yes, we admit that Colorado has everything but the ocean, and while that is a big statement to make, its hard to deny the utter beauty of the Colorado Rocky Mountains covered in snow and the warm glow of the aspen trees in the fall. Our state is filled with sunshine and the people are gracious, always smiling ready to assist. If you are not sure if Colorado really is the place for your wedding or if your family is pushing for another option here are five reasons why you should choose Colorado for your destination wedding.

1) Beautiful scenery for photography with many sites to choose from.

Colorado is filled with an enormous selection of venues that feature several mountain scenes, lakes, rivers, mansions and churches that leave you in awe. Photographers travel all around the world to photograph weddings and special events. Just browse through our wedding venue pictures and see the beauty that each place has to offer.

2) Incredible weather with 300+ days of sunshine

Without a doubt, Colorado is one of the most sunny states in the nation. There’s a reason you see flip flops and shorts in the middle of the winter…sunshine! After any snow storm or rainfall the locals know that warming sun rays and  perhaps a rainbow are just around the corner. The ground glistens with fresh white snow while birds chirp in the trees for your dream winter white wedding in the mountains and in the spring time your senses are delighted with bright colors, warm breezes and amazing floral aromas. Even with a little rain storm it is certain that the wedding will continue with the sun peering around the clouds because whole days of rain are rare in Colorado. Take a look at a weather calendar and you’ll see what we’re talking about.

3) Lower cost compared to the West and East Coast

Many studies show that the average cost of weddings these days range from $25K-$30K. However when you compare what you get for your green, you will be pleased to now that in Colorado you are getting a bigger bang for your buck! The average cost for reception halls and specialty vendors are much lower than that on the east or west coast. So…all in all, it will cost less!

4) Tourism for your visit

Colorado.com says it best…

“The season lures visitors to Colorado’s cosmopolitan cities, towns and resorts for superb shopping, exceptional cuisine, cutting-edge art, plus top-notch music, dance and theater. Many of the Centennial State’s B&Bs, mountain lodges and luxurious hotels offer fireside accommodations that add winter cheer to any vacation. And mild temperatures draw outdoor enthusiasts to our national parks, forest and grasslands and 42 state parks for cross-country skiing, snowy hikes, wildlife watching, ice fishing and more.”

…need I say more?

5) Central location for flights

Colorado is a great location for out of state guests! We are central to most states and the airport is so beautiful and easy to get around that your guests will find it hard to not to thank you for the simplicity of their travels. DIA is easy to get to and back compared to other places like Texas…(ugh, anyone been to Dallas recently?…you know what I’m talking about if you have!) Pretty much any airline you can think of flies this way and the cost doesn’t take an arm and leg to pay for!
